Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy covers the ColorID website (colorid.org) and the ColorID app for iOS and Android, both published by Zeisoft Yazilim Limited Sirketi (“Zeisoft,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
ColorID is a color identification tool. You point the camera at a surface or open a photo, and it reads the color as RGB, HEX, CMYK, HSV, RAL and Pantone values and finds the closest paint. There is no account: you never give us a name, email or password.
On the website
- Photos you open on this site are read in your browser. They are not uploaded, stored or seen by anyone.
- Your theme, color blind mode, color vision test result, saved colors and palettes are kept in this browser’s local storage. Clearing the site’s data in your browser removes them.
- The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web server, it receives your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and stop abuse; we do not combine these with anything else.
- Links to the App Store and Google Play carry a campaign tag so we can count visits from the site to the stores.
Cookies and measurement on the website
The website uses Google Tag Manager to load measurement tools. With your consent setting on, they use cookies and similar storage to count visits, see which pages and buttons people use, measure taps on the App Store and Google Play buttons, and see which ads brought visitors:
- Google Analytics 4 (Google): visits, pages viewed, app store button taps, approximate country and device type.
- Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms): visits from Facebook and Instagram ads, so we can measure and improve those ads.
- TikTok Pixel (TikTok): visits from TikTok ads, for the same purpose.
Measurement runs through our own tagging server at sst.colorid.org, which forwards data to these providers. We do not send them your photos, saved colors or anything you type.
When you first visit, a banner lets you accept or customize. Choose Customize, then Accept only necessary, and analytics and advertising cookies are switched off; only the storage the site needs to work stays (your theme, color blind mode, saved items and this choice). You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page, or by clearing the site's data in your browser.
These providers' own privacy policies apply to their processing. Google, Meta and TikTok may process data outside your country under their transfer safeguards.
In the app: data on your device
The app stores what it needs to work on your device: settings, onboarding state, color history, saved colors and palettes, a subscription cache and similar technical state. This data stays on the device unless you back the device up with Apple or Google. Uninstalling the app deletes it. We cannot see it.
Photos and videos you select stay on your device and never leave it. We do not upload them and do not receive a copy. The app reads them on the device only to read a color.
The app needs camera access to read a live color. On iOS it also asks for photo-library access when you pick a photo; on Android the system photo picker gives the app only the photo you choose. It asks for notification permission if you want reminders. You can decline or revoke each permission in your device settings.
In the app: technical and commercial data
To run subscriptions, measure stability and attribute installs, we and our processors may receive:
- Device type, OS version, app version, language and country
- Crash logs and performance events
- Pseudonymous app events (screens, paywall views, purchases)
- A subscription profile identifier from Adapty and purchase receipts from Apple or Google
- Attribution data from AppsFlyer and, if you allow tracking, an advertising identifier
- A push token if you allow notifications
We never ask for your name, email or payment card. Payments go through Apple or Google.
Color vision information
In the app you can tell ColorID that you have a color vision deficiency and choose its type (for example protanopia, deuteranopia or tritanopia), during onboarding or in Settings. This is optional; you can skip it or choose “not sure.” The type is stored on your device to adjust the color blind mode. It is also sent to our analytics provider (PostHog) and to Adapty as a profile attribute, linked to the app’s pseudonymous identifier and not to your name or email. We use it to understand which features help which users and to tailor in-app offers. We do not use it for advertising and do not share it with ad networks. To stop sending it, do not choose a type; to delete what we hold, see the Data deletion page.
On the website, the color blind mode and the test result stay in your browser and are not sent to us.
Third-party services
The app uses these providers, and the website uses the measurement tools above. They process only what they need for their role and never receive your photos or videos:
- Apple and Google: App Store, Google Play, in-app purchases and subscription status
- Adapty: subscription status and paywalls
- Firebase (Google): analytics, crash reports and, if you allow notifications, push delivery
- AppsFlyer: install and campaign attribution
- PostHog: product analytics and error reports
- Cloudflare: hosting of this website
- Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4, Meta Pixel and TikTok Pixel: website measurement, with your consent setting
These providers may collect device and usage data such as device model, OS version, app version, crash logs, approximate country and, if you allow tracking, advertising or attribution identifiers (for example through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt). Their own privacy policies apply to their processing.
How we use information
- To provide the features you ask for
- To restore and manage subscriptions
- To fix crashes and improve reliability
- To measure marketing campaigns
- To answer you if you email us
- To meet legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your photos or videos for advertising.
Retention
Data on your device or in your browser stays there until you delete it, uninstall the app or clear the site’s data. Photos and videos are never sent to us, so we have nothing of that kind to keep. Analytics, crash, attribution and subscription records are kept by us or our processors only as long as needed for those purposes or as store and tax rules require, then deleted or aggregated. If you email us, we keep the message long enough to handle your request.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including the EU and EEA, the UK and Turkey), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict personal data we hold, to object to some processing and to complain to a supervisory authority. Because ColorID has no account, most data lives on your device and is removed by uninstalling the app or clearing the site’s data. To ask us to delete anything we may still hold, use the Data deletion page or write to support@colorid.org. We answer within 30 days. You can reset advertising identifiers and revoke tracking, camera, photo or notification permission in your system settings.
Children
ColorID is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete what we have.
Security and international transfers
We use HTTPS and standard industry safeguards. Processors may store data in the United States or other countries; where required, we rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms. We are established in Turkey.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date below is the latest version. Continued use of the website or the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
