Color tools for color blind people

See a photo the way each type of color blindness sees it, get colors named in plain words and pick one color out from the rest.

How common it is

About 1 in 12 men and 1 in 200 women have a red-green color vision deficiency (Colour Blind Awareness). Most of them see color; they confuse pairs such as red and green, or blue and purple. Blue-yellow deficiencies affect fewer than 1 in 10,000 people, men and women alike, and complete color blindness about 1 in 30,000 (MedlinePlus).

How to use it

  1. Not sure about your color vision? Start with the two-part color blind test.
  2. See any photo as each type with the simulator.
  3. Name colors in plain words with the color identifier for color blind people.
  4. Turn on color blind mode in the view menu to label colors across the site.
